Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This document outlines the terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To hire a vehicle in Wolverhampton, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may apply depending on the vehicle type, with extra charges for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence for the appropriate vehicle category is required, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. You must also present valid identification and proof of your current address. Additionally, valid payment information and a security deposit are necessary. Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Wolverhampton office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are usually required at the time of vehicle pick-up. All prices are displayed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT when applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document the state of the vehicle. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may attract extra charges, so please reach out to us if you expect to return the vehicle later than agreed. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges that arise during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. Details regarding coverage and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. You may have the option to purchase additional insurance to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance covers it. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Cancellations and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous driving behavior. Transporting hazardous materials, sub-letting the vehicle, or allowing unauthorized drivers is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is forbidden, as is exceeding passenger or weight limits and operating outside the agreed geographical boundaries without authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Wolverhampton will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Local Legal Framework
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
10. Modifications to Terms
